# Commercial licensing for AI Machinery Atlas

AI Machinery Atlas software and original content are source-available for
permitted academic, public-interest research, personal and hobby use under
[LICENSE](LICENSE.txt), with attribution. These uses do not require a paid license.
This permission covers the software itself as well as the curriculum, scenes,
numerical labs and companion materials.

A separate written commercial license from **Semi AI Foundry, LLC** is required
before using the licensed work in commercial activity. Examples include:

- operating or embedding the atlas in a commercial product, service or website;
- paid redistribution, white-label versions, or selling courses incorporating
  the atlas outside the permitted academic-teaching use;
- business operations, corporate training, paid consulting or customer work;
- commercial production or staging deployments; and
- using the licensed software or content to train, evaluate or improve a
  commercial AI product or service.

Academic teaching and public-interest research remain permitted; ordinary
tuition and research funding alone do not make them commercial. An institution
cannot use its educational or nonprofit status to commercialize the atlas.
Personal study by an employee on their own behalf remains personal study;
using the atlas on behalf of a business in its commercial activity is different.

Identify the planned deployment, audience, modifications, redistribution and
commercial purpose. Public access or a source download does not itself grant
commercial rights. The license text governs; this summary does not replace it.
